making memory space
Great bonfire today of old furniture and mattresses and carpets – much of it etched in my memory from childhood. There’s a sad but deep satisfaction in cleaning out the old.
What have survived the time and the sea-air remain like life’s hourglasses. Some below:

fifteen year old rolands homemade coracle

the toaster, crafted way back, by a german blacksmith, still used on the fire

grandpa's home-made weathervane c. 1960
