We’re using sheepwool insulation in the roofspace – sourced from a company in Wicklow.

They assure me it’s from Irish sheep, but has to be exported to Germany for treatment!

And it’s expensive – all seems madness when you read that Irish sheep-farmers can’t cover the cost of shearing with the current price of wool.

The wool really works though – it acts like a giant pull-over on the cottage. Holding the moisture and the cold out of the house.
